It's been very quiet around here lately! :D The weather has been sort of cloudy and HUMID so we've been flaked out around the house! The kids have been playing so nicely together and have a super game of house set up in the spare room upstairs! They have tea sets and dolls everywhere..! I LOVE when they play so nicely together! It makes my heart ache with happiness. I have been known to creep upstairs and spy on them, just to fill up on that feeling! :D
We went out last night with some friends. Their son left Nebraska for New Zealand a few years ago and he was back for a visit with his NZ girlfriend, Mel. I have know their boy since he was 8 years old and it's so shocking to see a grown man where once was a small boy and listen to him talk about his life and his research he is carrying out etc.... They talked about all the travelling they have been doing.. they've been all over the states and are heading out to San Francisco for a day on Tuesday, then flying off to NZ after that. Envy envy envy.... I've done a LOT of travelling in my life, but not lately. We did go to England a year ago, but since that is "just" going home, it doesn't seem like such an adventure as discovering new lands! On the way home hubby and I felt really, REALLY OLD!!!! ** sigh **
I'm looking forward to some travelling in my future. Lots and lots of it! :D Maybe New Zealand would be a good start!! :D
Today is another grey and humid day, which is ok really. I like a change! We're going out to the mall later to pick up a birthday card for my Ma.
What's new with YOU?! :D

A.P. Parenting....
Or All that Paperwork....!!! Yikes! :D
Today was the day for paperwork! For some reason I woke up in the mood to shuffle some papers and fill some forms!! :D I have done so with abandon and now have paid all my bills, completed my homeschooling paperwork for the new year and, and this is a biggie, filled in all my insurance claim forms for my progesterone from back in November 2007 through to last month!! THAT was a bear on my back, but funnily enough, it was really simple to complete once I started. Isn't' that always the way? You put something off.. and put it off some more. It's been put off for so long that part of your brain thinks it must be because it's so hard to complete... so you put it off some more. Months pass. Finally you find you have some time to really look at the things, so you drag out the papers, sort them into reasonable piles, look at the instructions from the insurance company.... and... AND....and it's a cake walk!! :D All those months I could have had the money back!! :D Ah well! It's done now and I am sooo proud of myself! :D One thing I am not so happy about is I had told the kiddoes that I would plan to spend time with them today and play a game with them. It's 5 pm. Have YOU played with your kids yet?! I haven't!! There's still time, so I'm going to see if I can get them out for a quick walk with the dog, then a fast game of something fun before dinner! Yesterday I managed to play a game of chess with Jessie whilst talking on the phone! This afternoon I have been blowing bubbles with Jack whilst working on the computer... multitasking is my middle name! However, they really need 100% of my attention this time. ( In fact Jessie has just come in and asked if I would play with her!!) I'm going to head off and play for a while....Hide and Seek is my favorite......!! ;D

Monday Monday.....!!!
Well how was YOUR weekend?!
We didn't end up doing all the stuff we thought we would this weekend, but the kids and I had a great time at the water park and Jessie met a friend of hers she hadn't seen for years! She had such fun playing with him and his little brother! Jack and I spent a lot of time playing with the water fountains and he had a blast soaking me as much as possible...!!! I noticed that he was very keen to play with his sister and her friends. He would stride off into deep water to play with them, which would have been fine had the pool not been chocka block with people! You could barely move without bumping into or being bumped by someone or other. So many children were running and knocking everyone about.... * sigh * .... not exactly a heap of fun for me, but they were just having fun I suppose. Jack ended up asking to go on the water slide, a little kiddie one, and so many tiny kids were playing on it without fear... they came out spluttering sometimes, but for the most part they were all fine. I wouldn't let Jack go on it... he hates to go under water and I know what he's like for not holding his breath or shutting his mouth. I felt mean not letting him go, but I really wasn't sure what the best thing to do for him was. At one point I was following him around the pool and he was trying to get away from me and telling me to go away!!! I'm obviously being over protective, but my option then is to let him get away from me, go under water and then half drown?! He's a stubborn boy and really has no concept of risk.
Meanwhile a small boy, perhaps 3 at the most, was crying in the pool. He looked like he may be lost, so I approached him and asked him if he was ok. He cried louder and ran away from me. I told a lifeguard (young, handsome, nice smile....!) and he said that the boy had come down the slide, started to cry and was probably looking for his parents. Looking for his parents!!?!? He's 3!! Tops!!! He shouldn't be looking for his parents, they should be looking AFTER him. The lifeguard said he would take care of it and went after the boy. The boy would have nothing to do with him either and ran further away. The lifeguard shepherded him away from the deep end of the pool whereupon the boy then began to hustle to the exit...!!! STILL no sign of any parents......! At this point the lifeguard had rounded up more lifeguard help and they were all trying to sort out this little kid. I turned away. My own boy needed my attention and I knew they wouldn't let the little guy out the gates. I was so mad with his parents. So many people take their kids to the pool and they lay sleeping in the sunshine whilst their children play. The older ones can get wild and knock people down, the younger ones get frightened or hurt and the lifeguards are left to be the parents. It's disgraceful.
Hmmm. Sorry!! Bit of a rant this morning!! :D
Well... It's Whole House Cleaning Day AGAIN!! ; D I stripped and remade the beds before my run ( well the kids stripped theirs! ) so that's one less thing to do, but there's still a bunch to get on with ... at least.. NO PAINTING!! YEAHY!!! :D
Have a Happy Monday!! :D
