Away away another day! :D

Yup... another day behind!! ;D Ah well... I'm sure you'll forgive me or forget me!! ;D ( that's not right....??!?!) Yesterday we spent the day hanging out at my friend Diana's house. I love going there and the kids really enjoy it too! We did some school in the morning and then headed over there, armed with fresh M&M bread ( Dates, Pumpkin, Applesauce ( in lieu of eggs ) and sunflower seeds!!!! YUM!! ) it was still warm when we arrived!!! :D We stayed all afternoon and watched the snow begin!! Diana lives at the very bottom of a HUGE hill... I did wonder if maybe we should be brought our PJ's !! LOL!!

Anyway, we did make it home safe and sound with only a little slipping and sliding along the way!! It was a liiiittle tense to be sure!!! :D

Today we are having a snow day. It's pretty chilly ( -4.7 f this morning) to say the least! The kiddies did go out and play in the snow for a while but not for LONG!! ;D LOL!!! Hubby and I are spending our day loafing about for the most part!!! :D Apparently we are due to get some more snow tonight... oh boy! It was nearly 60 the other day... and now snow!?!? Sigh. It's going to be a long winter and spring I'll bet!!! ;D

Have a lovely weekend!!

Toodles!!! :D

Absence makes the heart grow fonder....???

no!?!?! :D

LOL!!! On Inauguration Day the kids and I spent THE ENTIRE DAY in front of the screen watching all the events unfold!!! We marveled at how exciting it all must be for the Obama family, especially the girls of course!!! What an amazing day that was!!

Yesterday we spent the day with Daddy in Omaha. He had a physical therapy appointment for Tendinitis in his arm and we were allowed in to watch the therapy. Jack was very interested in a book showing all the body systems and he spent ages reading through it!

He and I went outside whilst we waited and we discussed the relative weight of a large boulder! He was sure it was not as heavy as Jack .... so he tried to move it!! LOL!!! Ah, the innocence of youth!!! After lunch hubby had a meeting downtown and Jack had fallen asleep in the van, so we parked on the very top of a giant parking lot and looked down at the ant like people below! There are some fabulous sculptures in down town Omaha, and huge tall buildings... ! We enjoyed marveling at them and taking pics of them for a while.

With Jack woken up we got out and went down to the street level to get a drink from a Scooters store.

Once our thirst was satiated we took a stroll along the streets and wandered into huge buildings to learn about their design. One bank building has the front of an older building inside it so we spent a lot of time talking about how they did that and why. It was a really fun afternoon though we did get neck ache from all the looking up!!!!

At bedtime we talked about our day and Jessie said she LOVED Omaha and wanted to go back again tomorrow!!! She also said I was a GREAT MOM and Jack, of his own free will and volition said I LOVE YOU Mom...!!! Coincidence?!?!? I think not!!! LOL!!!

I have a dream.....!!!

But it's not as impressive as MLK's so I won't bore you with it here!! ;D

Yesterday we helped to stimulate the economy some more through a little retail therapy ( don't say I never do anything for you!! ;D ) though everything we bought was massively reduced and I managed to talk Rex out of buying a whole bunch of stuff I might have agreed with in the past. Times are getting hard, folks... hold on to those nickels and dimes...!! Sunday night we went over to a friend's house to eat some yummy food, play on their Wii fit ( Oh How I LOVE the Skiing....!!) and generally have some laughs!!! This morning we were still Hemming and Hawing (!! I LOVE that expression! ) about whether to make the drive up to Minnesota for the day to spend it with Annalee on her birthday. We chose not to, but it was such a close call. I was pretty disappointed in the end as I really craved a little adventure, a little something different for a grey old Monday day. Ah well. The party has already started now ( as she glances at the clock! ) and we've well and truly missed it!! I'm sure Annalee will have a lovely day anyway and it sounds like millions of folks were going to go along to the party!! Maybe next year, eh?! :D

Today we spent a little time digging into the trash that is my house at the moment!! ;D I spent 15 mins in the kitchen, 15 in the dining room and 15 in the bathroom and it looks SOOO much better already!! Rex came home about 1pm and we've been hanging about, talking about this and that! Jessie and Jack made us a pot of tea and laid out some cookies and now everyone is sitting and watching some sentimental Irish movie. Not really my scene, but hey, sitting around drinking tea and dipping bikkies is never a bad day!! ;D
