Boo At The Zoo!

OK!! Finally some pics from Boo At The Zoo! We went on their last night, the night before Halloween..... Hooo boy. Busy much!?!? :D

Here is my "Booboo Heewo" Mr Incredible Jack, and my poor pooch wearing a princess outfit that Alicia brought for her! :D

Scavenger hunt!

The other day was cold and wet and the kids were looking for something fun to do! We decided to do a scavenger hunt based on one their cousin had played with them when she came to babysit last! I wrote a list on the white board and handed them my camera and they had to find items in the basement that would fit the requirement!!! Oh they played for hours!! It's a free and easy game too which is a bonus eh!? :D

Curses on Cursive!

Handwriting without tears it is NOT sometimes! :D I honestly don't put any pressure on Jessie to write "properly" though
we do work on it and I'd like her to be able to write neatly... anyway, she gets upset when her letters don't come out as she had planned. Feeling sorry for her today I suddenly remembered Alicia's idea of writing in glue and glitter!!! Ah HAH~!! Once we started with that all stress was removed and we got some fabulous "M"s out of it!! :D

Poor Jessie.... I found a note she had written to an agony aunt the other day.... something along the lines of "Whenever I see a boy it makes me feel funny, please help, signed Jessie"

I asked her quietly about it and she admitted to me that "Boys give me the hibbbidddy~ be~Jibbiddies!" Oh lord... she's going to be just like her mother. Get thee to a nunnery gal! ;D LOL!!

Snoring dogs....and grateful wives.

I'm sitting here at my computer. It's one in the afternoon. Outside it's raining and grey, 43 degrees. Brrrr. Inside it's warm and cozy. I can hear the fish tank bubbling away, in the other room the sounds of Jack playing with his wooden train set. Across the room from me I can hear the contended snoring of Brecon, my beloved Lab. The puppy is curled up on her pillow at my feet and as I watch her, her eyes droop closed and she heaves a sigh. I am so peaceful right now. I thought this morning how lucky I am to not have to go to work everyday. I do complain, a lot, about being at home and the monotony of my "work".....laundry, cooking, cleaning, schooling, laundry, cooking, cleaning, schooling... etc... but watching my dear hubby heading out the door in the dark, cold and rain, never complaining, I realised how very lucky I am. It was nearly 10 am before I got dressed this morning. I have no reason to leave the house and can spend the entire day dry and warm if I chose to.
I am so very, very grateful.

It's AWESOME to be nine!! Updated on November 6th...!

Happy 9th Birthday Jessie!!! We're going to have a great day together! ;D We have Manicures, Pedicures, Bowling, the Movies and Dinner at a fancy restaurant!! Should be fun! :D

 

 

 

UPDATE!! :D Some pics, finally, of all the fun we had! :D

Firstly Jessie and Mommy went out to get their fingers and toes painted!! :D Such FUN though I always struggle trying to pick a color! :D

 

 

Then we went home to pick up the boys, ate some double chocolate chip cake and headed out BOWLING! :D

 

 

 

 

 

 

After bowling we headed to the movies to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua..... We were the only people in there until the last minute when 6 more people came in!! :D

 

 

 

 

After the movies we went to Las Margeritas restaurant for a delicious dinner! It was getting really late and the kids were exhausted!! :D ( Daddy was getting pretty silly too......!! ;D )

Today I had a flash of inspiration!! ;D I did !!! You may have noticed it!! :D
Jessie's birthday is next week. She'll be NINE... we're all very excited about it!! ;D
We had to go to Super Target today... HAD to... because, you know, I'd never go unless forced! ;D When we walked in I wandered over to the computers at the registry bit and registered Jessie's birthday!! It was pretty simple! It will be really simple for you as long as you don't have a newly six year old boy who wants to push every button, run behind checkouts and press keys, scream and yell, that kind of thing...! Anyway! Once I'd filled in the simple stuff Jessie took a piece of paper to the counter and they handed her a "thingy" ! One of those zapper things that ...oh! A bar code reader. Thank you, brain, for kicking in just in the nick of time there! Yes, a bar code reader. I told her "Go WILD!!" and she was tickled pink!! ;D She wandered through the toy aisle zapping this, that and the other whilst Jack and I went to the grocery part and picked out some food. We were probably in the store about 2 hours
(I LOVE Target!!) and when it was time to leave we handed back the zapper! She had picked out 15 items!! That's IT!! Man! Give me one of those things and I'd have 15 things per AISLE!!! I mentioned that she didn't have much zapped considering how long we'd been in the store...."well..." she admitted " I DID spend a lot of time READING the books I was going to pick instead of zapping them!!" That's my girl...!! I think!!! ;D
